How long does a car battery last?
Most car batteries last three to five years. Short journeys, long periods standing, heavy electrical loads and extreme cold all shorten that. Slow cranking, dimming lights on start-up and needing a jump after a few days standing are the classic warning signs.
Modern stop-start cars use AGM or EFB batteries, which cost more and often have to be registered to the vehicle's battery management system after fitting. Fitting a plain lead-acid battery to a stop-start car, or skipping the coding step, causes premature failure. Our technicians fit and register to spec.
